Special cylinders for paper industry

The working environment is one of the characteristics that impact the most the lifespan and reliability of a pneumatic cylinder, moreover the correct choice of materials and seals plays a fundamental role in ensuring reliable and durable operation over time. 

At 3A, we often assist our business partners in developing solutions capable of operating in harsh and highly aggressive environments, often where standard solutions are not sufficient. 

The paper industry is undoubtedly one of the applications that presents the greatest challenges: high workloads and cycle numbers, dirt, corrosive substances in direct and indirect contact with machine parts must be taken into consideration during the analysis and development to find out the most suitable solution.

Considering the presence of one or more of these characteristics in the working environment, the choice is made between stainless steel or aluminum cylinders, among polyurethane, hard plastic, or metal scrapers, and between standard or custom-made constructions according to the customer's specifications. 
Despite of the development of custom-made solutions, capable of offering greater guarantees in terms of performance and durability, this particular environment often demands frequent maintenance procedures to replace parts particularly prone to wearing processes. 

Furthermore, this application sector often requires large-sized cylinders, especially concerning the diameter of the cylinder itself, making it particularly inconvenient to handle and disassemble the entire cylinder to replace often only small-sized components.

To solve these problems, We have created special cylinders entirely made of AISI304 and AISI316 stainless steel with a diameter of 200mm. 

These cylinders feature a special hard polyester scraper and a detachable stainless steel nose fixed to the front cover. 

This allows Our customers to offer both a cylinder with superior quality and reliability compared to the competition and the possibility of an easy maintenance procedure of the critical point by simply removing the nose, avoiding the need of disassembling the entire cylinder.
